Let's Catch Up

So I fell off the grid a bit on the blog during my IUI. I guess I was trying to focus on remaining calm and keeping hopeful. Unfortunately it was not a success, which was heartbreaking as always. But I found myself more composed this time around. I didn't break down like I have in the past. I found myself more calm and retrospective.

I wonder if that has to do with the fact that I shared about struggles and I had such an amazing response from so many people. People I personally knew, or strangers who understood our struggles and connected with us.

Of course after everything was said and done, it starts the process of getting back to regular life again. I immediately hit the gym again (I was starting to feel less physically confident than I have been for a while now) with force. I needed to get that endorphin rush you get that makes you feel good after a workout.

I started thinking about the things we need to do, work on, improve... around the house, in our lives, for our next step.

And although nothing changes completely, I found that this last IUI has allowed Alejandro and I to clearly organize our thoughts on how we need to proceed moving forward.

For our fertility journey we have now agreed we no longer wish to attempt another IUI. We are certain we want to go forward with IVF. We know that when we see Dr. Eisermann again we need to stay firm to that decision. Even if he tries to sway from that opinion. Alejandro and I feel that with our combined issues, IVF may be the only way we have a much higher chance of conceiving.

Since Dr. E is a really busy and sought out doctor, unfortunately his earliest appointment isn't until February. We also have a family vacation planned out for March. So our goal... meet with Dr. E in February. Discuss our intent for IVF after March. Ask what we need to do from now to prepare for that. Stick to what he says and get the ball rolling!

We have a lot going on in the near future. There will be a lot of fun moments, our 5 year wedding anniversary, trips to Disney (various since we are Disney freaks), a trip to Park City... followed by some intense procedures, meds, shots, and even surgery. All in all 2020 is still shaping up to be an amazing year!

So I posted a while back that I am working on renovating my office space. Although it isn't 100% complete... because I can never seem to...
